Have you ever been in this situation?
When you get inside a café or restaurant, sit down without knowing the menu price tags, and then 10 mins into the menu browsing you realize that the food is not worth the dollar amount? And to top that, it’s too expensive, beyond your budget AND not a tad interesting. And so you think, I want to leave but we’ve been here 10 minutes.
The other week I walked into a random a café in Perth with a friend from uni. We sat down, dum di dum, started talking, dum di dum. The waiter brought our menu, dum di dum. We first ordered drinks, as you do and the only thing that came to mind then was soft drinks as it was a hot day.
We didn’t look inside the menu until we finished catching up about what we’ve been doing during uni break (we don’t have classes together this semester, so we thought we’d catch up on a random day). And then it happened… just as the waiter asked us for the 3rd time if we’re ready to order.
I looked at the prices, I looked at my friend. I looked at the prices, again. I looked up and say that she was biting her lip. I looked at the clock on the wall… we’d been there too long, people have noticed us already. Should I say something? Should I suggest that we leave? No that’s rude. My friend might think I’m being a picky bitch. She might…
…and then she looked up, smiled and said, “Wow this looks a little too expensive. I’m not even that hungry.”
I didn’t answer right away. I thought for a few seconds. Like 10 seconds or so. Then I said, “I don’t see anything I like, let’s go elsewhere?”
She was out of her chair within a bat of an eye! lol
The waiter was on his way and I just lied, “Something came up, we gotta goooooo.” I swear my voice faded as I rushed out.
We paid for our drinks, Lemon Lime and Bitters, lol and we were out of there! I was glad they hadn’t put bread on the table. Otherwise we would have been forced to leave a tip.
Have you ever bolted before ordering your meals? Did it feel weird? Certainly did for me!

Ohhh!!! Yes YES!! All the time!! You get in there.. sit down.. go… OMG!!!! and make a swift exit.. spilling out some pisspoor excuse to the waiter if they ask…
There was a coffee shop opposite the claremont hotel (use to be redrock, continental and random other names a long time ago – god only knows what its called now)… anyway I digress… the coffee shop.. we sat down.. got the menu.. opened it.. and went OMG… trying to leave the waiter was so insistent that we should stay – I had to tell him that my daughter had done an explosive poo and if he really wanted us to stay we could.. he then let us go!

Hahaha, you crack me up.
You know, sometimes I “exit” my seat on the train because… wait for it… people sitting next to me either smell, fart, wear too much deo or aftershave, listen to loud music on their iPods, or are constantly picking their noses.
